Welcome everyone to my preview sample for the Occasions Editions of Create with Connie and Julie. I am SOOOOOOO excited to be part of this terrific team! When they asked me to create a sample for the preview I thought of doing a card set with a clear 'wrap' around it. Here's some more details from my project (along with a view of the inside!).
Oh my...I just am IN LOVE with the new Sending Love Specialty designer series paper in the Occasions mini. This is one of those time that every single print is my favorite...okay but I do believe this one might be my favoritest of all my favorites! I recently saw a challenge for a color challenge of Pretty in Pink, Pink Passion, Gable Green, and Bermuda Bay and boy...did that ever get my creative juices going. I knew it would be perfect for this special card set feature the new I {heart} Hearts set in the Occasions mini.
The base of the cards are Whisper White with the pretty layer from Spending Love Specialty paper. If you look closely you will see I used the Scallop Trim Border punch from the Sale-a-bration brochure. Love it! Next I tied a piece of the Bermuda Bay Polka-dotted ribbon around it. The dotted heart is stamped with Pretty in Pink, the large solid heart with Gable Green, the 'fancy' heart with Bermuda Bay and finally the Friend heart is stamped with Pink Passion CRAFT ink, covered with Iridescent Ice embossing powder and embossed...SPARKLY! The Gable Green heart has rhinestones from the Eggcellent Egg Kit and the Friend heart is popped up on dimensionals. The front of the envelopes are stamped with the dotted heart and the fancy heart while the flaps of the envelopes uses the same paper as the cards.
Now for the wrap. I took a 4 x 10 1/4" strip of heavy window sheets and ran it through the Big Shot using the Finial Embossing Folder. I embossed two jumbo eyelets using white CRAFT ink and white embossing powder and then tied a piece of Bermuda Bay Polka-dotted ribbon through the eyelets to hold the wrap together. The solid Gable Green heart is attached to the right side of the wrap and the Pink Passion friend heart (which is layered on a Pink Passion punched heart) to the left side. They overlap when the wrap is closed to give a finished look.

Now that I've gotten my hands on the new stamp sets from the Occasions Mini, I am really excited! This set, I (Heart) Hearts, has endless possibilities for using the different shaped and sized hearts!
Now...what does every woman want for Valentine's Day??? (Well...come on...besides diamonds, cause you aren't going to find those here!) Yes, CHOCOLATE! And, how about TWO Giant Sized Hershey Symphony Bars! Yummy! Yes, this Chocolate Portfolio holds TWO of them!
The book base is Pretty in Pink card stock and the front has a layer of Real Red card stock that I ran thru the Big Shot with the new Perfect Polka Dots Impressions Folder. At the bottom, I placed some glittery Sending Love Specialty Designer Paper (this paper is AMAZING!) I wrapped the new Pretty in Pink Satin Ribbon around to hold the book closed and tied a pretty bow.
On the front I decorated with the hearts from I (Heart) Heart stamp set and used the Valentine greeting from the Hostess Level 1 set, Holiday Best. It was stamped on the Matchbox XL Die tag. Under the hearts is a 1 3/4 circle from the same Designer Paper and I punched one of the Trio Flowers and placed a new Chocolate Chip Epoxy Brad in the center of it. I also used the new Pinking Hearts Border Punch along the bottom with a strip of Pretty in Pink card stock under the Designer Paper! FUN!
Inside, the chocolate bars are wrapped with Real Red card stock and some Sending Love Designer Paper. I used the Pinking Hearts Border Punch on the top of the pockets here, too, and decorated the fronts with the Designer Paper (I did use less than 2 sheets for all the Designer Paper pieces!) I included a few more hearts stamped and punched with the Trio Heart Punch or Full Heart Punch and a Modern Label tag with the Love You greeting from Short & Sweet. The punched Full Heart has one of the Trio Flowers and a Pretty in Pink mini brad in the center.
