WSC - Apple Template

This weeks Wednesday Stamp Club is all about apples, well one particular Caramel Apple. The very talented Kathy Daume, created a couple of fabulous templates that she has very generously shared with all of us. You can find the Caramel Apple template HERE.

Seriously, how cute is this apple? Too sweet! The template is very easy to download and to use. There is a set of directions that come with the template. I of course didn't read the directions but I think I out it together properly! lol

I used Sour Apple, Red Hot and Creamy Caramel for card stock. I ran the Creamy Caramel through the Big Shot with the D'vine Swirl Cuttlebug folder. I thought it looked like nice, thick swirls of caramel. I used the Glaze pen on top of the swirls to give it that shinny look of caramel. For the leaves I used a bone folder and drew on the veins.

The little cutie is from the Pure Innocence set An Apple For You. I stamped her on a Cream Perfect Paper Panel and I colored her with Copics. I paper pieced the dress with some gorgeous Early Bird paper from Cosmo Cricket. I added some shine with the Glaze Pen to her shoes and the apple.

Stamp Organization

I'm on a mission to get my stamps all organized. No easy task! lol I had long ago out grown my system for storing my MFT stamps. Lucky for me, MFT has just come out with a new Stamp Storage Carousel. I am loving this new storage option. I am planning on buying two of them next month but I needed to get my stamps organized before they arrive.

I am very OCD when it comes to the way things are organized! lol I like everything to be all matchy matchy. The problem with this is some of my MFT stamps are in MFT packaging, and some are not. I really wanted them all to be packaged the same way so they would all look fabulous in my new carousels! I came up with a solution that I am really happy with! It will probably take me the next month to complete everything but if it looks good I'll be a happy girl!

MFT is selling both the small and large clear bags for hanging stamps on the carousel. She seems to be out of them at the moment but I am sure they will be back shortly! For the smaller bags, I cut a piece of card stock at 4" x 4 1/2". I stamped all the images from the stamp set onto the card stock. I printed out the names of the stamp set of Whisper White card stock and I punched them out with an oval punch.

I slid the stamp set behind the card stock. This way when I am flipping through my stamps I will be able to clearly see each image and sentiment. The bags come with a long strip of sticky to seal them. I HATE these sticky strips! It's not that they don't work, they work too well! I always seem to get them stuck to card stock or paper that is sitting out on my desk. Yes, I am a messy stamper! lol I didn't want to use the sticky strips so I used a small sticker instead. You only need a tiny sticker to hold it closed. Now my bags stay neatly closed and I don't have to worry about that sticky strip getting stuck to everything that I don't want it stuck to!

For the larger stamp sets I cut card stock to 4" x 7 1/2". I think for some of the even larger ones I will have to cut the card stock a bit longer. I'll let you know when I get there! I used a different color of card stock for each type of stamp. So far I have finished the Pure Innocence, Flopsey and the Sentiment stamps. I did the PI Girls in Certainly Celery, Tweeny Tween in Almost Amethyst, Boy & His Dog in Bashful Blue, Flopsey in Blush Blossom, and the Sentiments in Apricot Appeal. I've just started on the Who's That Girl line. I imagine it will take me at least a week to finish up those sets, I seem to have a few! LOL

This last photo shows what they look like sitting in a photo box patiently awaiting their new home. Won't they look fabulous when they are hung in the carousel?

CCJC9 - Mother's Day Cards

It's time for the last Create with Connie and Julie Challenge for the Occasions Edition. Wow, where has the time gone? We have truly loved having all of you participate in the challenges over the last nine weeks. We hope you have all had as much fun as we have!

This weeks challenge is all about Mother's Day cards! I know it's only March but there is a great Mother's Day set in the Occasions mini and we just couldn't let our session end without playing with it! Messages for Mom has some great sentiments that can be used for all sorts of cards, not just for mum!

I decided to pull out the Sending Love Specialty Designer Series Paper for this card. I thought the floral Pretty in Pink paper would look perfect with some Close to Cocoa card stock and some yummy Pretty in Pink Satin Ribbon!

I cut the flower out of the Sending Love Specialty Paper. I layered it on a scallop circle of Whisper White Textured card stock and a Close to Cocoa circle. I added a yummy Pretty in Pink Corduroy Brad for it's center. 

The letters were stamped in Chocolate Chip Craft Ink on Pretty in Pink card stock. I embossed them using Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder. I then cut them out and popped them up on Stampin' Dimensionals. The sparkle on the letters matches the paper beautifully! I added some yummy Pretty in Pink Satin Ribbon. I thought Mum deserved a nice big bow! I finished off the bow with a Pretty in Pink Corduroy Button with a little Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon. Lastly, I added a simple scallop circle tag. The great sentiment is from the Well Scripted stamp set.

For the inside of the card I kept thing fairly simple. I added a strip of the Sending Love Designer Series Paper, a piece of Pretty in Pink Satin Ribbon and a couple of sentiments from the Messages for Mom stamp set.

Tonight I am featuring the new Pure Innocence - Happy Mail stamp set! I'm telling you, this girl just gets cuter and cuter! My first card was created for this weeks WSC Challenge. Frances and Cindy have a wonderful sketch for us to work with this week. I stamped this little cutie on a Cream Perfect Paper Panel and I colored the image with Copics. Her dress was paper pieced with some of the new Cosmo Cricket paper.

I added a little shine to her shoes and the heart on the mail box using the Glaze Pen. If you've been following my blog over the past few weeks you will know that I am LOVING this new pen! I finished off the card with some beautiful Satin Ribbon.

My next card is full of something I love, polka dots! This collection of My Mind's Eye paper has really gotten a workout from me over the past few months! I've used up almost every last scrap of it!

For this card I stamped the image on a White Perfect Paper Panel and again I colored part of the image with Copics and then paper pieced her dress. I stamped the mailbox twice and adhered them on top of each other, this helped the mailbox to look a little more real.

Of course I used my favorite Glaze pen again on her shoes and on the heart on the mailbox. I finished off the card with a few Spring and Summer Buttons.

I also decided to alter one of the small mailboxes to go with the card. I wanted to keep the mailbox fairly simple. I covered it with some more My Minds Eye Paper. One of the sentiments from the set fit just perfectly on the little arm.

I stamped, colored and paper pieced the image on the mailbox exactly the same as the image on the card. I add a bit of May Arts Stitched Ribbon for the trim and then I filled it with chocolate!

MFT Teasers - Day 5

Today is the big day, it's Release Day! The new stamp sets will all be available this evening at 10:00pm EST! Be sure to join us in the MFT Forum on SCS tonight for our Release Party!

We are featuring three new sets today! Who's That Birthday Girl, Invitation Only, Clearly Sentimental About Birthdays (Triple Scoop Set). To see all of the creations that the Design Team has created check out Kim's blog around 11:00am EST.

 My first card today features two of these new sets, Who's That Birthday Girl and Invitation Only. These sets work so well together! I stamped my WTG on a White Perfect Paper Panel using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. A few parts were colored with Copics and the rest of the image was paper pieced with paper from Cosmo Cricket.

For card stock I used MFT's Red Hot and Black Licorice. I added some Black Perfect Plaid Ribbon, a little Black Gingham ribbon and a Summer Sun Corduroy button and brad.

My next card features the new Clearly Sentimental About Birthdays stamp set. I am in love with the sentiments in this stamp set! I wanted to make a simple elegant card featuring one of my favorite sayings from the set. It should be no surprise that I went for a Black & White color combo!

I stamped the sentiment on some Shimmery White paper using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I found this gorgeous hand made embossed paper at my local store. It is so gorgeous and delicate! I paired it with some Groom Specialty Paper. I added a few Baby Braddies and some Princess Pearls. The final touch was a large bow using Royalty Ribbon. On the inside of the card I used another sentiment from the stamp set.

Day 4 - MFT Teasers - Jolinne

It's day 4 of this months MFT Teasers! Have you been loving what you have seen so far? Of course you have! lol Today we are featuring two gorgeous new images from the Jolinne line of stamps! Be sure to check out Kim's blog about 11:00am EST, she will have the full list of designers participating today.

My first card features the Jolinne My Heart Sings stamp set. How sweet is she listening to her IPod? I stamped her on a White Perfect Paper Panel. Most of the image was colored with Copics but her dress was paper pieced. As you can see my love affair with October Afternoon Paper continues on with these cards today!

I used Real Red and Close to Cocoa for card stock. I finished off the card with a large bow using Red Perfect Plaid Ribbon and a large button. The final touch was some paper piercing.

My next card features the very cute Jolinne Best Friends Always stamp set. As a huge dog lover I just love this stamp set! If you have ever had a dog you know they truly are your best friend! They just seem to know when you need that extra bit of attention.

Once again I stamped the image on a Cream Perfect Paper Panel and I colored it with Copics. I masked off the main image and then I used sponges to create the sky. I kept the layout pretty simple. I used Regal Rose and Chocolate Chip for card stock along with some more October Afternoon paper.  For my embellishment I used a ton of Baby Braddies. These brads are so tiny! They are the perfect addition when you want to add just a little something to your creation.

Day 3 MFT Teasers - Pure Innocence

Are you ready to see the new Pure Innocence stamps? This month MFT is bringing you five fabulous new stamp sets from the Pure Innocence line, three new PI girls, a new Tweeny Tween and a new Boy & His Dog set.  My first card today features the Sunshiny Day stamp set. She is such a cutie!

I stamped the image on a Cream Perfect Paper Panel using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. The image was colored with Copics. I used the Glaze Pen to add a little extra dimension to the hearts on her shirt and shoes. I also added a little glitter to the butterfly. 

I used Sage Shadow and Ruby Red card stock along with My Minds Eye paper. The gorgeous trim is from MFT's Bakery Blend Ribbon. The brads are from the Chocolate Kiss Baby Braddies Collection.

My next card features the cute little boy from the new Boy & His Dog- Dog Gone Cute set. I stamped this little cutie on a White Perfect Paper Panel and then I  colored part of the image with Copics. I paper pieced his clothes using some Cosmo Cricket papers. The card stock is Blue Bayou from SU and Orange Fizz from MFT.

For the sentiments I used a few great stamps from the Clearly Sentimental About You stamp set that is also being released on March 3. The buttons came from a couple of different collections from MFT. The ribbon is from May Arts.

 My final card to share with you today is the new Tweeny Tween Rock On! I always find that it is so hard to find that perfect image for cards for teenage girls! Some images are a little too grown up and others are too juvinelle. The Tweeny Tween line is just perfect!

In this new set our tween is rockin' it with her IPod. I paper pieced the chair and colored the rest of the image with Copics. I went for a fun, bright colore palate. The paper is from October Afternoon, for card stock I used Sour Apple from MFT and Brilliant Blue from SU. I added some blue, green and silver seed beads to add a little extra bling to the card. The final touch was some Brillint Blue Brads and some Baby Braddies.

Day 2 MFT Teasers

It's time for day 2 of this month's MFT Teasers!We have two fantastic new sets to share with you today. To see the full line up of MFT Design Team members that are sharing projects today check out Kim's blog about 11:0am EST.

My first card today features a fabulous new set, Joy Ride from Amanda Baird. Doesn't this image just make you smile? I love it! I stamped the image on a Cream Perfect Paper Panel and I colored it with Copics. I stamped the image a second time on another Cream Perfect Paper panel, and I added the super cool pebble paper as the road and then added the main image on top.

For card stock I used Sno Cone from MFT, Very Vanilla from SU! and the patterned paper is from October Afternoon. I finished off the card with a stitched ribbon bow and a little sentiment banner.

My second card for today features the Clearly Sentimental About You stamp set. I really love this new Clearly Sentimental line of stamps. It's often so hard to find just the right sentiment for a card, these stamps are perfect for so many occasions.

This card is very simple but I like the way it turned out. I used some Red Hot and Black Licorice card stock from MFT. The patterned paper is from October Afternoon. The sentiment was stamped on a Cream Perfect Paper Panel. I added a little flower embellishment and a corduroy brad.

Day 1 MFT Teasers

Are you excited? It's time for this month's MFT Teasers to start! You won't want to miss any of the fabulous samples today so check out Kim's Blog about 11:00am EST. She will have a full list of all of the designers participating today.

The set we are featuring today is the very cute and very versatile I Want Candy! This set was available as part of an MFT Kit a few months ago but now it is available on it's own! For my first card I paired up this fun set with some My Minds Eye Paper. The bright colors reminded me of yummy candy treats!

I paper pieced the tops of the suckers and then I added a thin layer of glaze to give them that nice shiny look. For card stock I used a Perfect Paper Panel and Red Hot and Sno Cone from MFT. I used a Martha Stewart Punch to add a little texture. I finished off the card with some Chick Flick Baby Braddies and some Candy Cane Kisses Ribbon.

I also created a couple of candy crackers to match the card. I used a few of the MFT Candy Die Cut Boxes. These boxes are super easy to put together and they are a fantastic way to present a little candy treat.

CCJC8 - Color Combination Challenge

 

It's time for another Create with Connie and Julie Challenge! This week our challenge was a color challenge. Certainly Celery, Orchid Opulence and So Saffron! Not a color combination that I would normally come up with! I actually choose the colors based on the Shades of Spring Designer Series Paper.

I still haven't decided if I really like this paper. I love the colors, I just think the print is too big for me. For this card, I decided to embrace the large floral print! There is very little stamping on my card, only the sentiment is stamped.

I decided to cut apart one of the sheets of the Shades of Spring Designer Series Paper to create this flower. I started by cutting out the large main flower. I added a few leaves to balance out the card and then I started adding layers. Each layer was carefully cut out and the ends were slightly curled up. Each layer was popped up on Stampin' Dimensionals to give it a little more depth. I finished off the flower with a large button from the Button Latte collection.

I added some yummy Certainly Celery Satin ribbon to the front of the card. The sentiment comes from the Messages for Mom stamp set. It fits perfectly inside the Modern Label Punch. I added a couple of So Saffron brads and some paper piercing to finish off the card.

I cut out another one of the flowers from the Shades of Spring Designer Series paper for the inside of the card. I added a bit more Certainly Celery Ribbon to the So Saffron card stock to finish it off. Just before I took the picture I noticed that there was a blemish on my ribbon. Unfortunately, there was no way to replace it without ripping apart the whole card and I really didn't want to do that! So please just pretend that you can't see it! lol
