Always Heart Pocket Card

  If you follow my blog at all you know that I love black and white cards. There is something about the simplicity and elegance of that color combination that just makes me happy! So once again I am using Black and White. Although, this time I did add in a splash of red.

If I could only buy one set with a heart in it from Stampin' Up! I would buy the Always stamp set. I absolutely love the heart in this stamp set! For this card I have embossed the heartin Black on Whisper White Cardstock. It is so striking!

I made the heart pocket using a template that I found on SCS under the Technique Lovers Challenges.

 I stamped the background of the card with Baroque Motifs in Basic Black Classic Ink. For cardstock I used Real Red, Basic Black and Whisper White. The ribbon is from Stampin' Up! in Real Red Wide Grosgrain and Basic Black Grosgrain. I also used a few circle punches and the scallop circle punch.

I think this is a great Valentine's Card! Not to cutesy or girlie. Now I just need to find a man to give it to! lol

Petal Pizzazz

This card just makes me think of warm Spring days. It's freezing here in Calgary today and Spring is a long way off! lol

Petal Pizzazz is one of the great new stamp sets in the new Spring Summer Idea Book & Catalog from Stampin' Up! I created this card for a few friends at Leadership in Orlando. The Pink Pirouette flowers were easy enough to punch out with the Scallop Circle punch, but the little brown ones took a lot longer to cut out!

I used Pink Pirouette, Kiwi Kiss and Chocolate Chip Classic Ink. The cardstock is Chocolate Chip and Kiwi Kiss Textured. The patterned paper is Bella Rose. The ribbons are Pink Pirouette, Double Stitched Chocolate Chip and Whisper White Taffeta. The sentiment come from Heard From the Heart.

BC Dzyns - Heartbreaker

                    

  Have you seen this new set from BC Dzyns? Heartbreaker is the newest set in the BC Dzyns collection from MFT. I love this line from MFT. Not only do you get a fantastic main image, you also get fun sentiments that go with it.

I created this card for this weeks What's Up Wednesday challenge in the MFT forum on SCS. They have a great challenge each week. This week Jessie designed the challenge. The challenge was to use three different types of ribbons on your card. As many of you know I love ribbon! Three types of ribbon on one card, not a challenge at all! lol

For this card I used some gorgeous Valentines paper from K&Company. Not sure if you can see it in the picture, but the rose paper had a fabulous sparkleto it! Cardstock is Basic Black and Rose Red from Stampin' Up! The main image was stamped on Papertrey White cardstock and colored with Copics. The ribbons are from May Arts and KI.

For those of you that have asked for the directions for the Pencil holders from yesterday, I will be posting pictures and a mini tutorial tomorrow. My camera batteries died this morning and once I managed to get them charged I took one picture and my memory card was full. I figured that was a sign for me to wait a day! I will have it up for you in the morning. You are seriously going to laugh when you see how easy it is!

Top Note Pencil Holders

  I was playing around last night with the Top Note Die from Stampin' Up! and I came up with these cute little pencil holders! I don't know why I do this, but I am constantly buying holiday themed pencils. I don't use pencils and I don't have any kids that would use them, I just seem to buy them for stamping projects!

For this first pencil holder I used this adorable set from My Favorite Things, Valentine Flopsey. I stamped it with Memento Ink onto Papertrey Cardstock, I then colored the image with Copic Markers. He was then cut out and put onto the ovals with Dimensionals. The Ovals were cut with Nestabilities and I used the large Pop Up Dots from Stampin' Up! to adhere it to the pencil holder.

The red cardstock is Real Red Textured from Stampin' Up! The fun polka dot paper is from Making Memories. The gorgeous ribbon is from May Arts. I used the ribbon both as decoration and to give the pencil holder a little bit of extra support.

 

Once I had finished the first pencil holder I decided that I should do another one! This time I used the gorgeous new Raspberry Tart paper from Stampin' Up! and the new Elegant Thank You stamp. This is one of the fantastic new individual stamps that are available now through Stampin' Up!

I used Kiwi Kiss Textured Cardstock for the pencil holder. Other cardstock colors include Rose Red, Pretty in Pink and Whisper White. The Scallop Circle was cut with Stampin' Up's Scallop Circle Die and the Big Shot. The circles were done with nestabilites. I used Rose Red Classic Ink and then some Pink Pirouette Classic Ink to sponge around the edges. The ribbon is also from Stampin' Up, it is the Double Stitched Rose Red Grosgrain and the Pretty in Pink Taffeta. I finished it off with the White gel pen.

Kreative Jewels Team Christmas Party

Last night we had our team Christmas Party! I know, it's January but we had a bit of a weather delay! On the  day we originally had the party booked in December it was -30 degrees and snowing! Yesterday it was a beautiful 15 degrees out! Who would have guessed it would be that much warmer in January.

We had a fantastic time last night. We had four Make & Takes using brand new sets from the new Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog. We had lots of great food, a little wine and too much chocolate. We had a little Christmas gift exchange. The gifts were all amazing! I have such a talented group of demonstrators on my team! Here are a few pictures. This is Becki, Brigitte and Sherry showing off the gifts they received.

This was the gift that I made for the gift exchange. I decorated the gable box using the gorgeous new Raspberry Tart Designer Series Paper. The sentiment on the from of the box is our Stampin' Up! Statement of the Heart. The hearts are from the Always stamp set. In side I had a collection of Stampin' Up! items that I purchased at this years Leadership.


This is the gift that I received. It was made by the very talented Sherry King. Sherry has a real talent for putting together gifts like this. What a great picnic basket!

I had lots of little gifts for each of my downline members that were in attendance and of course I had a basket full of door prizes for everyone.

  We have team meetings every month on the third Monday of the month. Game Night

  It seems that many of the Control Freak swappers have already received their swaps so I think I am safe posting this. I don't usually say this about my own cards but "I love this card". lol It took longer to make than I had anticipated, but I am thrilled with the results.

Game Night is a brand new stamp set available from Stampin' Up! today! I used it along with Jackpot Designer Series paper to create this card.

I started out using the 1 3/8" square punch and the Jackpot DSP. I adhered these squares to a piece of Basic Black cardstock. I then used the amazing Top Note Die with the Big Shot. Do you ever wonder what you did before you had the Top Note Die? The Chess piece and the dice were both stamped in Versamark and then embossed with clear embossing powder.

The rest of the card is pretty straight forward. I used Basic Black and So Saffron Cardstock along with Real Red Textured Cardstock. The ribbon is Real Red Wide Grosgrain and Black Gingham, both from Stampin' Up!  Punches include the Wide Oval, Large Oval, Small Oval and Designer Label Punch. The saying comes from the Sweet Serendipity stamp set.

I hope my sister Freaks like the card as much as I do! They are such a talented group of ladies. I can't wait to see the swaps I receive this time.

Just Buzzin' By

 

Yesterday was just so exciting! The new catalog is just AMAZING!!!! I am always excited about the new catalog but this one has really gone above and beyond what I was expecting! I can't even imagine what my wish list is going to look like! Yikes!

Just Buzzin' By is another one of the new stamp sets in the up coming Idea Book & Catalog. I have to tell you that the facial expressions on the bees in this set are just amazing. They are too cute!

 

I stamped the beehive image onto the Watercolor Paper with Jet Black Stazon. I used the Stampin' Write markers and the Blender Pen to watercolor it. The little bees have Dazzling Diamonds glitter on their wings. Again, these bees are just  to cute!

I used Naturals Ivory, Close to Cocoa and Brocade Blue for cardstock. The Designer Series paper is So Saffron Patterns. I sponged the edges of the cardstock with a little More Mustard.

Elegant Thank You

So I'm sitting in our hotel room in Sunny Orlando! It was so nice walking off the plane, I could instantly feel the warm humid air! I LOVE IT! I really need to get to bed but the whole time change thing just isn't working for me right now! I will definitely be regretting it in the morning!

As for the card, this is another one of the cards I did or our little swap. It is incredibly simple, it just has lots of layers! Lots of layers of ribbon and cardstock! This is a brand new soon to be released stamp Elegant Thank You. It is so gorgeous!

For the cardstock I used Rose Red, Pink Pirouette, Kiwi Kiss and Whisper White. The gorgeous Designer Series Paper is the soon to be released Raspberry Tart. The ribbon is 1 1/4" Pink Pirouette Grosgrain, Rose Red Double Stitched, Kiwi Kiss Striped Ribbon and the Pretty in Pink Grosgrain. I used a few  Rose Red brads and the Tag Corner punch. I just love that punch.

Sweet Stems

  Last year at Leadership I got together with three amazingly talented women for a little swap. Mary Brown, Connie Babbert and Liz Shultz. Not only are these women amazing stampers, they are also incredible people.  We had a great time together at Leadership in Palm Springs and the swap cards were fabulous!

We continued on this little swap at Convention this year. Once again the cards and the company were fantastic! Here it is time for Leadership again and time for our little swap. Unfortunately the fabulous Mary Brown will not be joining us in Orlando, something about having to work! We will miss you Mary! Connie's friend and our sister Control Freak will be joining us for this years swap!

So this is my first swap card for our little swap. It uses the brand new soon to be released Sweet Stems set from Stampin' Up! This is a gorgeous little set. The flowers are so delicate!

I used Shimmery White, Apricot Appeal, Rose Red and Certainly Celery Cardstock. I also used a bit of the new Raspberry Tart Designer Series Paper. The image was stamped with Stazon and then colored with Stampin' Write Markers. I used one of the border stamps from Beautiful Borders at the very top of the card. It was stamped in Versamark so it is very subtle.

I did a little paper piercing and then added the Black Gingham Ribbon for that extra little pop! I decided to add a little to the inside of the card as well. I think it finished it off beautifully!
