It's a busy day today for us MFT girls! We have our weekly WSC challenge and a fun feature celebrating our new Digital Designs. Be sure to check out Kim's Blog at 11:00am EST, she will have a full list of designers participating in today's activities.
Our WSC challenge this week is all about dressing up. You can interpret this challenge in any way you like. It could be dressing up for an evening out, dressed up for Halloween, or just playing dress up. I decided to go for a Halloween theme.
I inked up the oh so cute PI Princess stamp set. Can you believe that I hadn't inked her up yet? Yikes! I paper pieced her with some prints from K&Company. If you take a close look at her outfit you will see that I used a number of different layers on her jacket. I find this really helps to add some depth to the image. For card stock I used Sour Apple and Black Licorice.
I went a little crazy with the bling on this card but I figured it's Halloween! lol I used some very fine Doodlebug Designs lime green glitter for her veil on her hat. The rest of the bling are rhinestones from K&Company. I thought the stars and the moon were just perfect for this card.
Of course I couldn't make a card without using a Die-namics! I seriously wonder what I did before MFT came out with these fabulous dies! I used the Die-namics Jumbo Scallop die. I layered a few scallops on the front of the card and then used just one on the inside.
If you haven't worked with the MFT templates before you don't know what you are missing out on! These templates are fabulous and you don't have to have a cutting machine to use them. I created this cute little box using the Full Circle Treat Box. I don't have a cutting machine yet, so I created it old school style using a pair of scissors! It does take a bit longer to cut but the results are still fabulous!
I made my treat box out of patterned paper instead of card stock. It's super cute but I don't think it is sturdy enough to hold anything too heavy. Next time I think I will create one using card stock and patterned paper. I used the super cute new set Tiny Town Halloween. The images in this set are just perfect for all your Halloween treats!
Again, I had to use a Die-namics die. I used the Die-namics Star Border die. I just love the extra detail this die gives the treat box.
