In 2011, MFT is working harder than ever to inspire you, and we have come up with something we think you'll really enjoy. Our Design Team Creative Challenge will be a new monthly feature, where we challenge our design team to explore their creative side using a specific theme or product. This month, we asked the team to get creative for Valentine's Day. It's a great occasion to get crafty, and put your supplies to good use. Are you ready to get some ideas for your Valentine's Day gifts? Visit Kim's Blog for a full list of participants to see everything from cards to gift ideas and everything between.
Using Chocolate Chip Craft Ink, I stamped the word Love from the new Inspired By Love stamp set onto a piece of K & Company patterned paper. I then embossed the word with some Clear Embossing Powder.
I used the fabulous new Die-namics Textile Rectangle die. I just love the size and shape of this die!
I really wanted to layer the die so I cut out two extra piece in Hot Fudge card stock.
I then trimmed off the corners on one half of each Hot Fudge piece.
I used the bottom edge of the pink piece and I lined it up on top of the bottom edge of the Hot Fudge piece. I did the same thing for the top edge.
I was able to create a fabulous layered look for my tag.
The only concern was how the back of the tag looked. As you can see the two pieces of Hot Fudge card stock don't look so fabulous from the back! The solution was to cut out one more piece of the pink patterned paper to cover the card stock. Now when you open the tin it looks great on the inside as well as the outside.
I added a few hearts created with the Die-namics Hearts a Plenty die. I attached one of them using a button created with the Die-namics Button Quartet die.
Don't forget to visit Kim's blog for the full list of designers participating today, I'm sure there will be lots of eye candy!
