Now that we've teased and tempted you all week long, it's almost time for you to grab all of your favorite Brand Spankin' New products from MFT.
Spring: The grass is starting to grow and the leaves are sprouting on the tree.
The leaves that come with the Branch with Leaves Die-namics are very similar to some of the other leaves that come with the Upsy Daisy Die-namics dies. To speed up my leaf cutting, I used a ton of extra leaves from that set too.
I used the same light green paper for these leaves as I did for the spring leaves. To make the leaves more vibrant I colored the patterned paper with a Copic marker before I cut them.
To create the different colored leaves I cut out a number of leaves in a brown/light brown polka dot paper. I colored over some of the leaves in red, orange, or yellow. I also left a few in the original brown.
To speed up the process of making this piece I cut out all the Die-namics die-cuts that I thought I would need in advance of putting it all together. Turns out I was really short on the leaves and had to cut out a bunch more, I also didn't originally plan on the grass, but other than that everything was cut in advance.
I cut 8 birdhouses, 4 for the back and 4 for the front (these have the hearts cut out for the door), 8 house tops, 8 house ledges, 8 branches, 4 fences, 4 poles, 4 blue flags, 6 white flags (I cut extra in case I messed up stamping) and a ton of leaves.
Once I had everything cut, I sponged the edges of everything with Distress Ink.
This is how I assembled the birdhouses. I really wanted the houses to have a fair bit of dimension to them. I created the back part of the house and popped it up on Dimensionals. The front part of the house was then added, again using Dimensionals. The front ledge was added using Scor Tape, the roof was added with Dimensionals. All of the leaves were curled around my paper piercer to give them a bit of added dimension. They were all glued on using Glue Dots.

The card stock and some of the patterned paper is from Stampin' Up! The other patterned paper is from My Mind's Eye. I used the Layered Labels Die-namics die for the sentiment in the center of the piece.
