MFT Teasers - Day Seven!

It's our last day of MFT Teasers and you all know what that means! Tonight is the big release night! Be sure to join us in the MFT forum for some fun, then it's time to shop! Before we get to all the information about that, I have a fun project to share with you today.

With Christmas just around the corner I thought I would share an inexpensive table setting project with you. You can create a fabulous table using a few supplies and Die-namics dies. All projects feature Wild Cherry, Very Vanilla and Old Olive card stock. The patterned paper is from Authentique's Wonder collection. The yummy ribbon is from Stampin' Up! and the rhinestones are from K & Company.

First up, we have the name place card. I kept this really simple. I layered the fabulous Clearly Sentimental Die-namics die, layered with an oval from the Vintage Cameo Die-namics die and the ticket label from the Layered Labels Die-namics die. I added a bit of holly that was created with the Christmas Ornaments Die-namics dies.
Since I am British, I don't believe that a Christmas table is finished unless there are Christmas crackers on it. To create the cracker I used a toilet roll and I covered it with red tissue paper. You can purchase the firecraker part at Micheals. I cut out two pieces of patterned paper and two pieces of Wild Cherry card stock with the Clearly Senimental Die-namics die. I adhered the two pieces of card stock togheter and then I adhered the patterned paper on top. I left a bit of a space at the top edge so you could see the card stock. I added a bit of May Arts Crochet Trim and a sentiment from the Christmas Ornaments stamp set was stamped on a banner created with the First Class Ribbon Award Die-namics die.

 Instead of buying little charms or tags for your wine glasses, why not make your own? For the wine tag I used the Clearly Sentimental Die-namics die to cut a piece of patterned paper. I folded the paper in half to make this cute tag. Keeping with my theme, I added a bit of holly and some Very Vanilla Ribbon.

Here is a quick and easy napkin ring. I cut a piece of patterned paper and a piece of Wild Cherry card stock using the Clearly Sentimental Die-namics die. I adhered the patterned paper to the card stock and then I rolled the paper in my fingers to loosen up the fibers. I then adhered the one end to the other to create the ring. I added yet another piece of holly to finish it off. This napkin ring is not very wide, but you could easily add an extra piece of card stock to make it longer.

I kept the candle really simple, I added a bit of Very Vanilla ribbon and then a bit of holly. The candle is sitting on a doily created with the Dizzy Doily Die-namics die.

MFT Teasers - Day Six!

We're up to day six of the MFT teasers and it's your favorite day, Pure Innocence Day! This month MFT has seven fabulous Pure Innocence sets for you! That's right, I said seven!

My First card features the Precious Little Lamb - Upon a Star stamp set. I don't know what it is about this little lamb but I think he is just adorable! I stamped the image on a piece of X-Press It card stock and I colored him with Copics. I paper pieced most of the image using prints from Lily Bee Designs Jingle collection. I used Bravo Burgundy and Always Artichoke for card stock. I added some Dazzling Diamonds glitter for the snow and I added a bit of SU Grosgrain ribbon to finish off the card.

The sentiment was stamped on a flag created with the First Place Ribbon Award Die-namics die. I used the fabulous new Loopy Blooms Die-namics die to create the fun flower. This die is so incredibly versatile, you are going to love it!
My next card features the new Holiday Hugs Snowman. I LOVE snowman stamps and this one is no exception. I stamped the image on X-Press It card stock and I colored him with Copics. I wanted tit to look like the sunshine was shinning all around him.  It didn't come out exactly as I had envisioned it, but I still think he is cute! I added some Dazzling Diamonds glitter for the snow, I just love the shimmer and shine this glitter has. I used Berrylicious and Hot Fudge card stock along with prints from Jillibean Soup's Blossom Soup and Christmas Eve Chowder collections. I finished off the card with some Basic Grey brads.

Can you spot the fabulous new Die-namics die I used? Yep, it's the Wonky Scallops Die-namics die! I love the look you get when you layer this die! What can I say, I guess I am a bit wonky! LOL

MFT Teasers - Day Five

We're up to day five of the MFT Teasers! Today we are featuring two fabulous new à la modes stamp sets, à la modes Knit Happens and à la modes Disco Queen. Both sets are a ton of fun!

 I stamped the image on a piece of X-Press It card stock and I colored it with Copics. I used some prints form Jillibean Soups Dutch Mustard Soup collection. The card stock is Sour Apple and Hot Fudge. I added a few Basic Grey brads and some satin ribbon.

Of course I had to use a couple of Die-namics on this card! The new Wonky Scallops Die-namics die is so much fun! I also used the Die-namics Ticket Tab.

My next card features the fabulous à la modes Disco Queen stamp set! As you can see I went for a bright color scheme here! I stamped the image on a piece of X-Press It card stock and I colored it with Copics. I added some glaze to her fabulous boots and a bit of shimmer to the Disco Ball.
I used Lemon Drop and Black Licorice card stock, along with some prints from Echo Parks County Drive collection. I added a bit of Black satin Ribbon and some Lemondrop Twine. I also added the fun Die-namics Peace Sign!

MFT Teasers - Day Four!

It's Day Four of the MFT Teasers. Have you seen a few things that you like so far?  I'm sure most of you have a wish list a mile long! I am loving this release because it is full of fabulous Christmas sets and I have a real soft spot for Christmas stamps! Today I am featuring the Christmas Ornaments Die-namics and Stamp Set. Love, love, love this new set! You can create quick, mass produced cards with this fabulous set, which is always a good thing for Christmas cards.My first card features prints from the Jillibean Soup Christmas Eve Chowder and Blossom Soup collections. The card stock is Wild Cherry and Hot Fudge. I used the fabulous new Oval Dainty Doily Die-namics die. I am so excited that MFT is now carrying oval Die-namics!

The sentiment on the front of the card came form the new Clearly Sentimental About Christmas stamp set. I stamped it on a sentiment flag created with the Die-namics First Place Ribbon Award die.

My second card features paper from My Mind's Eye, Be Merry collection. I love this collection of paper, the pops of pink are my favorite! I used Wild Cherry, Sno Cone and Bubblegum card stock. The red ribbon is from Stampin' Up, the pink satin ribbon and the yummy Maraschino Twine is from MFT. The little tag on the ornament string is one of the Die-namics included in this set, isn't it adorable?

MFT Teasers - Day Three!

It's day three of our MFT teasers, today we are featuring two Clearly Sentimental stamp sets. Clearly Sentimental About Abundance and this month's Triple Scoop set, Clearly Sentimental About Christmas. I decided to ink up Clearly Sentimental About Christmas. This set is just filled with fabulous Christmas sayings.

For my first card I stamped the sentiment on a piece of X-Press It card stock. I sponged the edges with some Distress Ink. I used a number of prints from the Lily Bee Designs Jingle collection. Is is just me, or are there a ton of gorgeous Christmas paper collections out this year?

The card stock is Riding-hood Red and Sno Cone. I added touches of glitter around the sentiment panel, along the icicles and on the snowflakes.

I used the gorgeous new Icicle Border Die-namics die. I have a feeling that I will get a ton of use out of this die! I layered lots of my favorite Die-namics dies for the sentiment on this card. I used the Layered Labels Die-namics, and the Sweet Stack Die-namics. I also used the 1/4" Rosette Die-namics die. I added a few snowflakes using the Die-namics Let It Snowflake dies.

 My second card also features Clearly Sentimental About Christmas and the new Oval Dainty Doily Die-namics die.

The sentiment was stamped on a piece of Sweet Tooth card stock. I added a bit of stitching with some DMC floss. To finish off the card I added a bit of black bling. I used a Houndstooth embossing folder to give the card a quilted fabric look. The papers and card stock are the same as those on the first card.

MFT Teasers Time - Day Two!

It's Day Two of the MFT teasers and we have two fabulous stamp sets to share with you today, Fred Bear Catches Some zzz's and Inspired By Christmas. I have two cards to share with you using the amazing Inspired By Christmas stamp set. I absolutely LOVE this stamp set!

My first card features the gorgeous Santa image. I have to admit that I am really picky about Santa images, I don't like Santa to look goofy or scary! LOL I think this image is just perfect!

I stamped the image on a piece of X-Press It card stock and I colored it with Copics. I distressed the edges of the oval with Distress Inks and scissors. I used Riding-hood Red and Black Licorice card stock. The patterned paper is from Simple Stories, 25 Days of Christmas. I'm really enjoying all the vintage style prints in this collection.

I used the Oval Decorative Doily Die-namics die for the main image and for the sentiment on the inside of the card. I have received a few questions about which oval Nestability die I am using with this Die-namics die. I am using the largest die from the Classic Oval Small set.

 My next card features another one of the large images in the Inspired By Christmas set. Don't you just love the old fashioned sleigh? I would love to go for a sleigh ride on one of these.

I stamped the image on a piece of X-Press It card stock and I colored it with Copics. I sponged the edges of the oval with some Distress Ink and then I went to town doing the cracked glass technique. I haven't played with this technique in quite some time so it was fun to try it again! I love the vintage feel of this card. I used the same supplies for this card as I did the first one, Riding-hood Red, Black Licorice card stock and Simple Stories 25 Days of Christmas paper. I added a bit of May Arts ribbon to finish off the card.

MFTWSC43 - Sending Get Well Wishes

It's time for this weeks MFTWSC sketch! Lots of fun panels on this one. I decided to ink up the adorable PI Girl Doctor. Don't you just love her? I stamped this image on a piece of X-Press It card stock and I colored her with Copics.

I used More Mustard and Black Licorice car stock alonq with prints from My Mind's Eye, Lost & Found Two, Sunshine collection. I added a ton of Black Baby Braddies.

I used a couple of Die-namics dies, the Hearts a Plenty Die-namics and the Button Quartet Die-namics. On the inside of the card I used the Layered Label Die-namics.

MFT Teaser Time - Day One!

It's time for this month's MFT teasers to begin! We have seven fun filled days of teasers for you. Today we are previewing the new Who's That Girl Gets Cozy with Cocoa stamp set. This stamp set is just perfect for Christmas cards and gift packaging! This set sold out in record time earlier this month as part of the MFT VIP package, so don't delay ordering this one!

I stamped the image on a piece of X-Press It card stock and then I paper pieced the image with some prints from Echo Park - Season's Greetings. I used Red Hot, Sour Apple and Sweet Tooth card stock. I added a bit of Honeydew Twine and a button. Did you notice the new border Die-namics die? This gorgeous new die is the Die-namics Crown Border die. I also used the Die-namics Dainty Doily Duo dies and the Die-namics First Class Ribbon Award die.

MFT Creative Chat - Patterned Paper

 

It's time for the MFT Creative Chat. The My Favorite Things Design Team Creative Chat is a monthly feature, where we are challenged to explore our creative spaces and share valuable organizational methods, tools, and shopping strategies with you. You'll be able to peek into our creative spaces, ask questions, and share your own ideas in the MFT forum.  This month, we were asked the following questions:  

 

How do you store and organize your patterned paper?   

How do you store your scrap patterned paper?

Most of my patterned paper sits on this shelf right beside my desk. I have three containers on this shelf which hold almost all my 6x6 paper. (Sorry, this first picture is so dark, it's in the corner of my room and it is really hard to get a good shot).

This first box is my go to box of paper. The box is actually a ballot box that I had from my SU days. If you have ever purchased one of these Ballot Boxes, you know they are not cheap! I wasn't sure what I was going to do with it, but I was determined to find a use for it! I slid off the long back piece, flipped the box on it's side and now it holds my beloved 6x6 paper.

The box holds about 35-40 6x6 paper pads. This is where I keep my newest paper packs. It is currently filled with mostly My Mind's Eye, Echo Park, Authentique and Jillibean Soup pads.

Sitting right beside the first box is another old SU item. This is a Literature Holder, I keep my scraps for the paper pads that are in the first box I showed you in this literature holder. Most of the paper collections have their own baggie. I placed the name of the paper collection on the top of each baggie. Have I ever mentioned that I love my lablel maker? LOL

 These are the scrap baggies that currently reside in my literature holder. I like keeping them right by the paper pads, it helps me to use the scraps up first before cutting into a new sheet. It also helps me to keep my desk somewhat clean when I am stamping!

The last box on the shelf is a really old Winnie the Pooh Photo Box. I have had this box for at least 15 years! You would not believe how well made and sturdy this box is! This box contains the rest of my 6x6 paper. I currently have a number of Cosmo Cricket, Bo Bunny, Prima, and Crate paper stored here. Right beside the box are my October Afternoon 8x8 paper packs. They fit just perfectly!

I recently sold off a number of Basic Grey paper pads as I wasn't using them as much. I like moving out the old to make room for the new when it comes to paper. As I have new paper on the way it may be time to clean out the Winnie the Pooh box again!

In my stamping closet I have a drawer that holds the rest of my patterned paper scraps. These scraps are organized the same way as the ones in the literature holders. I tend to move packs from the literature holder to the big drawer once I am no longer using them as frequently.

 I use SU! Clear Cellophane Bags in the 6x8 size. Most of the baggies contain just one set of papers but some contain a whole collection. For the My Mind's Eye collections that came out with four different pads, like Lime Twist, Stella Rose or Lost & Found, I put all four packs into one scrap baggie. I can usually tell which individual pad they are from and I find that the pads in the same collection often go quite well together.

I do have one paper holder filled with 12x12 papers that I rarely use. I sold almost all my 12x12 papers once I left SU. I just love the smaller prints on the 6x6 pads!

Baby Boy & Blog Candy

I recently needed a baby card for friends who welcomed a beautiful baby boy into their family. The fabulous à la modes - Bundle of Baby set was just perfect for the occasion.

I stamped the image on a piece of X-Press It card stock and I colored it with Copics. The image was then cut out and placed on a large tag created with the Die-namics Tag You're It die.

I used some Close to Cocoa and Bashful Blue card stock, along with some My Mind's Eye Blink of an Eye prints. I used the Die-namics Simply Scallops Medium Die to create the scallops. I used the Notched Tag Die-namics and stamp set to create the tiny tag. I just adore this set! I finished off the card with some small Basic Grey brads and some yummy seam binding.

On the inside of the card I used the Die-namics Layered Labels die for the sentiment.
