MFT Teasers Day Five!

 It's day five of the MFT Teasers, today we are previewing two fabulous new à la modes stamp sets! While I love both sets, the à la modes Dip Me In Chocolate, just spoke to me! LOL For those of you that don't know, I have a slight chocolate addiction.

I stamped the image on a piece of X-Press It card stock and I colored the image with Copics. I paper pieced the chocolate bar to make it pop. I used some Hot Fudge and Orange Fizz card stock. The patterned paper is from Jillybean Soup's Dutch Mustard Soup collection.

I used a couple of new Die-namics dies on this card. The new Layered Hearts Die-namics die is definitely one of my new favorites! I seem to be using it on every card! I also used the new Jumbo Monarch Border Die-namics Die and the Bracket Tab Die-namics die. On the inside of the card I used the Well Worn Labels Die-namics and the Framed Greetings Die-namics die.

MFT Teasers Day Four!

It's day four of the MFT teasers, ave you been enjoying everything you have seen so far? We still have a few days left of Teasers before the big release on Tuesday January 3rd! Today we are previewing two fabulous sets At the Movies and Monogram Alphabet! 

My first card features the At the Movies stamp set and Die-namics die. This is a HUGE set, full of fabulous images and sentiments. Did I mention that it comes with coordinating Die-namics dies? This set is so versatile, it can be used for many occasions. I decided to create a Valentines card. I used a few of the sentiments from the set and I stamped them inside the ticket stamp. I lined up the tickets so they looked like the ones you get on a ticket roll.

I paired the tickets with a couple of Die-namics dies. I used the newLayered Hearts Die-namics die, along with the Hearts a Plenty Die-namics die. I also used the new Jumbo Monarch Border Die, this is such a fun border die! I used some Black Licorice and Pink Lemonade card stock along with some papers from Echo Park Yours Truly paper. I finished off the card with some Black Gingham ribbon.

My next card features the new Monogram Alphabet. I don't know about you, but I can never have enough alphabet stamps! I decided to create a New Years card. I stamped the letters on a print from Echo Parks Yours Truly. Can I just quickly mention how much I live clear stamps, it makes lining up letters a breeze! I used the By the Numbers Die-namics dies to create the numbers. The numbers were placed on banners created with the new Mix and Match Banners Die-namics dies. I finished off the card with a bit of bling.

On the inside of the card I used two Die-namics dies with the sentiment. The Clearly Sentimental Label Die-namics layered with the Polka Dot Greetings Die-namics die.

MFT Teasers Day Three!

 It's day three of MFT Teasers! We have two fabulous sets that we are previewing today, Pearls of Wisdom and Clearly Sentimental About Romance. Both sets are full of fabulous sentiments that you are going to love! I decided to ink up Clearly Sentimental About Romance. 

 I stamped the sentiment on a piece of lined paper from MME's Loves Me paper. I used the First Class Friend Die-namics die to frame the sentiment. The new Layered Heart Die-namics dies goes so well with the Clearly Sentimental About Romance set! I used Bubblegum and Hot Fudge card stock. The patterned paper is all from MME Loves Me. I finished off the card with some Satin Ribbon, some Basic Grey brads and a pin. 

 On the inside of the card I stamped the sentiment on the Clearly Sentimenal Die-namics die. It's the perfect size for those larger sentiments.

MFT Teasers Day Two

It's day two of the MFT Teasers! Your favorite bunny is making an appearance again this month! That's right, Flopsey is back!

Bunch of Hearts Flopsey is absolutely adorable! Just love all those hearts! I decided to create a small wall hanging. I used some 1 1/4" twill for the base and a piece of saddle stitched ribbon for the bow at the top. I used Fossil card stock for the larger heart from the Layered Hearts Die-namics dies. I stitched around each of the large hearts with some pink DMC Floss. I used MME's Loves Me paper with the smaller heart die. I popped up these hearts with dimensionals.For the first heart I stamped Flopsey on a piece of X-Press It card stock and I colored the image with Copics. I added some glaze to the hearts and to Flopsey's eyes to make them pop. I used the Die-namics By the Letters dies to spell out I love you. I finished off the first heart with the Fancy Flourish Die-namics die.
On the second heart I used the Hearts a Plenty Die-namics die along with another Fancy Flourish. I stamped one of the sentiments from the set on one of the new Mini Tabs Foursome Die-namics dies.

The final heart features another Fancy Flourish and a sentiment stamped on the First Place Ribbon Award Die-namics.

I used a few Die-namics on this project!

MFTWSC52 - Inspired By Flowers

It's the last MFTWSC of 2011! Can you believe that it has been a full year since we switched to the new sketch format?  Wow, time flies! I hope you have enjoyed our weekly sketches. If you haven't participated yet, be sure to put it on your New Years Resolution list for the new year. For this sketch I inked up the new Inspired By Flowers #4. I stamped the image on a piece of X-Press It card stock and I colored it with Copics. I used Red Hot and Black Licorice card stock along with some prints from the October Afternoon Sidewalks collection. I added some black brads, a black button and some Black Gingham ribbon. I only used one Die-namics die on this card the Small Scallops Border Die-namics die.

Here are the details for the weekly MFTWSC challenge. Simply follow the sketch and create a card or other paper creation.  You may use any stamps and supplies that you wish.  Each week, a keyword is assigned to the sketch.  All you need to do to enter, is upload your card to the gallery at SCS, and enter the given keyword in the keyword box, during the upload process.  After the deadline, we randomly choose a winner from that week's entries and the winner will receive a $15 gift voucher.  If the winning card uses MFT stamps, the participant will earn a $5 bonus, for a total of a $20 gift voucher!  That is up to $100 per month in prizes, JUST for playing along.

MFT Teasers Day One

 It's day one of the MFT Teasers! Once again, we have a fabulous line up of new stamps and Die-namics dies for you this month! How about we start things off with a trip to Paris with our Who's That Girl? Who's that Parisian Girl? is this month's WTG set.

This is a really fun set! The sentiments and the accessory stamps in this set are a ton of fun! I stamped the image on a piece of X-Press It card stock and I colored it with Copics. I sponged the edges of the card stock with some Smokey Blue Adirondack ink.

I used some Basic Grey and Bubblegum card stock. The patterned paper is from MME's Love Me collection. I really think I should have bought two packs of this paper as I seem to be using it a ton! I added a rhinestone flourish for that little bit of sparkle.

Now, let's talk Die-namics! The new Layered Hearts Die-namics die is amazing! I LOVE the size of this die, nice and big! I also used the fabulous new Eiffel Tower Die-namics die. This die coordinates just perfectly with the Who's That Parisian Girl stamp set! I also used the First Place Ribbon Award Die-namics die for the sentiment. I used the Hearts a Plenty Die-namics die on the inside of the card.

MFT - Creative Chat

It's time for the MFT Creative Chat. The My Favorite Things Design Team Creative Chat is a monthly feature, where we are challenged to explore our creative spaces and share valuable organizational methods, tools, and shopping strategies with you. You'll be able to peek into our creative spaces, ask questions, and share your own ideas in the MFT forum.  This month, we were asked the following questions:  

 

 

Show us how you store your embellishments.

What are your absolute favorite embellishments?

Any tips or tricks on how to use embellishments on stamped creations?

The majority of my embellishments are housed on this shelf beside my stamp desk. I use the Craft Mate binder organizers. Each of the binders contains four, seven compartment organizers. I absolutely love these binders! The lids are nice and secure, if they fall all your goodies don't flow onto the floor.

I take all my embellishments out of the package as soon as I get them. I have the embellishments organized by color. I used to have them organized by the manufacturer, which worked for awhile but I outgrew that system. I found that I was having to pull down ten different binders just to find the right embellishment. With my new color coded system I just pull down the color binder that I want. It makes finding embellishments so much easier!

Some of these binders are overflowing with embellishments while others have a bit room to add more. I am really trying to limit the colored embellishments that I buy as I already have a ton! I do however "need" some more black and brown ones! LOL

Most of my embellishments in these boxes are not labeled as I tend to know which manufacturer they are from. I did label some of the assorted embellishments. I cut out the name of the embellishment from the package and taped it to the bottom of each container.

In front of my Craft Mate organizers I have a number of jars from Ikea. Each jar contains a single color of buttons. Most of these jars are jammed to the top. I guess that means that I can't buy any more buttons!

 Under my desk have a three drawer plastic Sterilte container that holds my other embellishments. On top of the drawers I have a number of old Stampin' Up! clear stamp boxes. These boxes are just perfect for storing embellishments. I have a number of them that contain flowers and one really large one full of felt snowflakes.

 

The drawers of embellishments are filled with things that just don't fit anywhere else. The first one contains some of my larger HodgePodge hardware.
The second drawer is full of Prima flowers. I never really got into the whole Prima thing so my collection is quite small.

The final drawer is my favorite, it's full of bling!

One of our questions was, what is our favorite embellishment. It's a question that I really don't think I can answer! I love all sorts of embellishments. I love brads, buttons and bling! The one embellishment that I have a ton of, that I really don't like, are eyelets! Why on earth did I buy so many and what the heck am I going to do with them?

 As far as tricks and tips for embellishments go, I only have one important rule, less is more! There is no need to add every embellishment you have to any one card! A few well placed embellishments have far more impact than too many.

MFTWSC51 - Happy Holidays

For this weeks MFTWSC sketch I decided to ink up the very sweet PI Stocking Girl. She is just so stinkin' cute! I stamped the image on a piece of X-Press It card stock and I colored her with Copis. I paper pieced her pajamas and Christmas stocking with some prints from Lily Bee Designs, Jingle collection.

I used the Medium Simply Scallops Die-namics die, along with the Let It Snowflake Die-namics die. The sentiment was stamped on the Bracket Tab Die-namics die. On the inside of the card I used the Polka Dot Greetings Die-namics and the Layered Labels Die-namics dies. I finished off the card with a fun piece of SU ribbon.

MFT VIP New Product Tour

I decided to ink up the adorable new PI Jump for Joy. I decided to go bright for this card! I guess all this warm weather we have been getting has me thinking of spring instead of winter!

I stamped the image on a piece of X-Press It card stock and I colored it with Copics. I used the very fun and bright Echo Park paper, Country Drive. I paired it with Tempting Turquoise and Black Licorice card stock.

I added a little sunshine with the Sunshine Die-namics die. I finished off the card with some black saddlestich ribbon and a few Baby Braddies. I used the Oval Tab Die-namics die on the inside of the card.

MFTWSC50 - Love and Laughter

 

This weeks MFTWSC sketch is a quick and easy one, just perfect for this time of year! With Christmas being only 11 days away, you are probably running around like crazy. Hopefully, you will have a few minutes to join is for this weeks sketch!

I used the fabulous new Clearly Sentimental About Christmas stamp set. Oh how I love the sentiments in this set! I used some papers from My Mind's Eye, Lost & Found Christmas collection.

I used the Layered Labels Die-namics dies for my sentiments. This was one of the first label dies that MFT released, and it is still one  of my favorites.
