MFT Teasers - Day One

I am so excited about this months MFT Release! Once again, MFT has out done themselves! The stamps sets and Die-namics dies are all fabulous! You are going to love them! For our first day of teasers we are featuring the newest Who's That Girl set, Let's Chat.

 I stamped the image on a piece of My Mind's Eye, Vanity Fair paper. I paper pieced the rest of the image. I paired the patterned paper with Fossil and Hot Fudge card stock. I used the Mini Tabs Foursome Die-namics for the sentiment on the front of card.

 I layered a couple of Die-namics, the new Monarch Border Die-namics, and the Simply Scallops Medium Border Die-namics. I am really enjoying how these border Die-namics look together.

 Speaking of Die-namics, can we talk about the newest floral Die-namics? WOW! The new Botanical Beauty Die-namics are fabulous! I love the large size and they are so fun to layer together! For this flower I used two of each of the smaller flowers. I added a few dimenisionals between the layers to give the flower that extra depth!

On the inside of the card I used the Textile Rectangle Die-namics die for the sentiment.

MFTWSC56 - One of a Kind

We have another fun sketch for you this week! The new PI - Paper Dolls was the perfect image for this sketch! I stamped the PI Paper Dolls image on a piece of X-Press It card stock and I colored it with Copcis. I paper pieced her dress and the dolls using some prints from Echo Park's, A Walk in the Park collection. I really wanted the image to pop off the card so I layered the Die-namics Dizzy Doily Duo with some black circles.

I used the Paper Doll Border Die-namics die as well as the First Place Ribbon Award Die-namics for the sentiment. On the inside of the card I used the Clearly Sentimental Label Die-namics die.

Here are the details for the weekly MFTWSC challenge. Simply follow the sketch and create a card or other paper creation.  You may use any stamps and supplies that you wish.  Each week, a keyword is assigned to the sketch.  All you need to do to enter, is upload your card to the gallery at SCS, and enter the given keyword in the keyword box, during the upload process.  After the deadline, we randomly choose a winner from that week's entries and the winner will receive a $15 gift voucher.  If the winning card uses MFT stamps, the participant will earn a $5 bonus, for a total of a $20 gift voucher!  That is up to $100 per month in prizes, JUST for playing along.

MFT & Scor-Pal Blog Hop

We've got a fun surprise for you this morning! MFT and Scor Pal have joined forces for a fun Blog Hop! Don't you just love it when two fabulous companies get together?

For my project today I made a couple of tea bag boxes. Each box can hold 3-5 Twinings tea bags. I thought these boxes were perfect as a little gift for a friend, or a little something at a place setting, or even as an invitation to tea.

 

 

 

 

All of the boxes feature the fabulous Always Time for Tea Stamps and Die-namics set. I also used the First Place Award Ribbon Die-namics and a Circle Nestability die. I used the Branches with Leaves Die-namics dies for all of the leaves on the boxes. The boxes were all created with Hot Fudge and Pink Pirouette Textured Card stock. The patterned paper is from My Mind's Eye Lost & Found collection. I finished off all the boxes with a piece of SU! Chocolate Chip Twill.
My first tea box features the fabulous Mini Rolled Roses Die-namics die and the Bracket Tab Die-namics die.

This box features the Die-namics Flower Trio and Leaf Trio dies and the Oval Tab Die-namics die.

This box features the Upsy Daisy Die-namics and the Oval Tab Die-namics die. 
 

The final box features the Bracket Tab Die-namics die and the Pretty Posies Die-namics dies. The center of the flower was created with the Upsy Daisy Die-namics.

One of the reasons that I love the Scor-Pal is that making little treat boxes is so incredibly easy! I usually start out with a piece of printer paper and I just start scoring until I have the dimensions that I want. Okay, so I usually end up using more than one sheet to get the size and shape that I want, but that's why I use the printer paper before I try it on card stock!

I've put together a quick tutorial for you on making the tea boxes. I think you will find they are quite quick and easy to make.

To make the tea box, start with a piece of card stock 9" x 4 1/4".

Use the Scor-Pal to score the card stock at 3 1/4", 4", 7 1/4" and 8".

Turn the card stock and score at 3/4" and 3 1/2".

 
Cut up to the score line at the 3 1/4" and 4" marks. Use the score lines as a guide and cut off the area on each side between  7 1/4" and the end of the card stock. Your card stock should look the same as the picture above.

 
Place two strips of Scor Tape along both sides of the box. Be sure to place the Scor Tape in the place show above as this will ensure that the edges of the card stock will show at the back of the box, not the front.

Peel off the backing of the Scor Tape and assemble the box.

Using Die-namics dies, create the front of your box.

Place Scor Tape on the bottom half of the circle. Do not place any tape along the top of the circle. This step is very important as we are using the front piece to keep the lid of the box closed.

 Remove the backing of the Scor Tape and adhere the circle to the front of the box. Make sure you leave enough room at the top to allow the top of the box to slide underneath the circle. The picture below illustrates how the box lid slides under the circle.

Finish decorating the front of your tea box and enjoy!

Inspired By Christmas - 2012 Christmas Card #3

 Yes, this is another Christmas card. I know it's two in a row! I was running behind last week on my posting so I had to sneak yesterdays card in before the new week began. I should be back on schedule now.

I used Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge sketch as my inspiration for this weeks Christmas card. She has another great one for us this week! I decided to ink up the fabulous Inspired By Christmas stamp set. i just love the Santa image in this set. I stamped the image on a piece of X-Press It card stock and I colored the image with Copics.

I used Jellybean Green, Fossil and Black Licorice for card stock. The patterned paper is from Simple Stories 25 Days of Christmas. I think this is the third time I have paired this image with these papers. I just love the way they work together. I finished the card off with a few Basic Grey brads and some Charcoal Twine. The twine was a bit to white to match the colors of the paper so I colored the twine with Copics. I used E41 and it was the perfect color to soften the bright white.

I used the First Place Ribbon Award Die-namics die to create the flag on the front of the card. On the inside of the card I used the Polka Dot Greetings Die-namics and the Layered Labels Die-namics die for the sentiment.

I have a fun project for you tomorrow and I promise that it is not another Christmas card! LOL

  

CTD175 - PI Holly Girl

 This weeks Color Throwdown 175 was perfect for my weekly Christmas card. Yes, I'm only on week two, but I can still call it my weekly Christmas card! I inked up the adorable PI Holly Girl. I love holly so it's no surprise that I love this image!

I stamped the image on a piece of X-Press It card stock and I colored it with Copics. I'm not sure how well it shows up in the picture but I colored the background of the picture in a light shade of Ivory. I paper pieced her dress with a print from Authentique's Wonder collection. I added a touch of glaze to her shoes and the berries

 I used Red Hot, Fossil and Jellybean Green. I used the fabulous new Jumbo Monarch Border Die-namics die. I finished off the card with a few pearls and some Ivory Satin ribbon.

On the inside of the card I used the Sweet Stack Labels Die-namics and the Well Worn Labels Die-namics.

 

 

 

TCPTUES 193 - Whale of a Friend

This weeks TCP Tuesday Challenge is a color challenge and I just happen to LOVE this color combination! I am still waiting for my new goodies to arrive, so I had to ink up one of my older sets. I decided to ink up Whale of a Time. I just love to paper piece this whale! I used Jen's fabulous Sketch For You To Try, for the layout. I think my circle is a little bigger than it was supposed to be but my whale needed a bit of space.

I stamped the whale on some paper from Bo Bunny's Crazy Love collection. I added a little bit of glaze to his eye to make it stand out on the busy paper. The little heart on his hat came from a stamp in the A Beary Good Year stamp set. I used the fabulous Cut Ups Wave die to cut the waves. I added some Liquid Pearls dots around the circle for a little extra bling. The card stock is Pink Pirouette textured, Hot Fudge and Razzleberry. I finished off the card with a piece of striped brown ribbon. On the inside of the card I added the Heart Trio Cut Ups. I just love that wonky heart!

MFTWSC55 - Time For Tea

Our MFTWSC 55 sketch is an easy one this week! I did very little stamping on this card! I used the gorgeous new Always Time for Tea Die-namics and stamp set. I can't tell you how much I love this set! As many of you know I have a slight tea addiction. It is hard to believe, but my tea addiction is actually worse than my chocolate addiction!

The Always Time For Tea Die-namics are just fabulous! I quickly created the teapot and tea cups using these dies. I used Echo Park's Times & Seasons collection of papers. I love the rich papers in this collection. For card stock I used Textured Very Vanilla and Black Licorice. The flower was created with the newFringed Perennial Die-namics die. I seriously think this is my favorite of all the flower Die-namics. I finished off the flower with a pearl.

I have more information on this fabulous collection further down in my post, but let's take a look at a couple of cards first!My first card features the PI Violin Girl. She is such a cutie! I stamped the image on a piece of X-Press It card stock and I colored her with Copics. I sponged the edges of the card stock with some Adirondack Shell Pink ink. I used Black Licorice and Pink Lemonade card stock along with some prints from Echo Park's, Victoria Gardens collection.

The sentiment was stamped on a flag created with the First Place Ribbon Award Die-namics die. The scallops were created with the Simply Scallops Medium Die-namics die. I finished off the card with a few black brads and some black gingham ribbon.

On the inside of the card I used the Dizzy Doily Duo Die-namics Die and the First Place Ribbon Award Die-namics die for the sentiment. The little musical notes were created with the Die-namics Musical Notes dies.

 

 

My next card features the new PI Blowing Bubbles! This set brings back so many fond memories, I used to love blowing bubbles as a child. I can't think of a better way to spend a sunny afternoon!

I stamped the image on a piece of X-Press It card stock and I colored it with Copics. I added a bit of paper piercing to the circles. 

For card stock I used Pale Plum and Perfect Plum textured. The patterened papers is all from Echo Park's Springtime collection.

 

I used the gorgeous new Fringed Perennial Die-namics die to create the flower. I just love the embossing this die does on the petals! I added a small pearl to the center of the flower. The sentiment was stamped on a piece of card stock cut with the Sweet Stack Labels Die-namics. I finished off the card with a bit of pink Seam Binding.

CTD174 - Pearls of Wisdom

This weeks Color Throwdown Challenge is full of gorgeous colors that I hardly ever use! I love all the colors I just don't tend to use them that often and I have never used them all together before! I guess that's why it's called a challenge!

I decided to ink up the new Pearls of Wisdom stamp set. I really love the sentiments in this set! I stamped the sentiment on  piece of Daffodil Delight card stock. I also used Soft Sky and River Rock textured card stock and some Soft Suede card stock.

I used the Polka Dot Greetings Die-namics die for the sentiment. I then layered it with the Oval Decorative Doily Duo Die-namics.
I created the flower with the new Fringed Perennial Die-namics. I love the embossed lines on these flowers. I added a Soft Sky Corduroy brad to the center of the flower. I finished off the card with a bit of bling.

 

TCP TUES 192 - You Suit Me To a Tea!

It's time for another TCP Tues Challenge. This weeks challenge is all about embossing. Of course I recently packed up my embossing gun (am I the only who who packs things for a move thinking I won't need it in the near future and as soon as it's packed, I need it?), so I had to go for embossing folders.

I inked up the adorable Like You a Latte and You Suit Me. I just love this line of stamps! I stamped the image on a piece of X-Press It card stock and I colored their faces and hair with Copcis. I actually added a couple of layers of card stock for their hair, it really pops. I paper pieced every thing else on both images. The papers are from My Mind's Eye, Loves Me collection. I used a Hounds-tooth embossing folder on her scarf and mittens. The card stock is Bravo Burgundy and Very Vanilla textured card stock.

I used the D'vine Swirl embossing folder on the large heart which was created with the Layered Hearts Die-namics die. The sentiment was stamped on a sentiment flag created with the First Place Ribbon Award Die-namics die. I also used the fun Icing Cut Ups die. I finished off the inside of the card with a couple of hearts created with the Heart Trio Cut Ups dies.
