It's time for our monthly Creative Challenge. This month is all about Christmas in July! I am one of those people that could, and probably should, make Christmas cards all year long! I absolutely love Christmas and Christmas cards. I did however find it a little weird making Christmas cards in the middle of this warm weather we have been having!
My first card features the adorable PI Holly Girl. I absolutely love holly. I was so excited to see that it grows here on the island! I stamped the image on a piece of X-Press It card stock and I colored it with Copics. I paper pieced the dress with a print from Echo Park's Season's Greetings. The card stock is Kraft and Jellybean Green.
I curved the sentiment to mimic the shape of the banner. I also used an old SU corner punch to round the corners of the card.
I used the new Rounded Banner STAX Die-namics and the Simply Scallops Small Die-namics dies. I added a touch of Flax Twine to finish off the top of the card.
My next card features one of my all time favorite Santa images, it's from Inspired by Christmas. I love all the images and the sentiments, but this Santa is definitely my favorite.
I decided to stamp the image on a piece of patterned paper instead of coloring it, which is what I usually do. I choose a neutral print form Lily Bee Design's Jingle collection.
I used the Oval STAX 1 Die-namics and the Oval STAX 2 Die-namics to cut the ovals. I also used the Simply Scallops Small Die-namics for the scallops.
I used Snow Cone and Neutral card stock. The ribbon is also Snow Cone. I just love have matching card stock, ribbon, felt and now buttons! I finished it off with a little Flax Twine and some Basic Grey brads.
Be sure to check out the MFT Blog for the full list of designers participating in this month's Creative Challenge. Hopefully, we can inspire you to get started on those Christmas cards early!
