I created a fun Merry Christmas banner using many of the new Die-namics. The banner is quite long and it was very hard to photograph! I took a couple of pictures of the banner when it was hanging up so you could get a feel for what it looks like as a whole. Unfortunately, light was a real problem! The rest of the photos are close ups and the lighting is much better.
To create the banner I used the fabulous new Jumbo Christmas Stocking Die-namics. I cut out the base of the stocking in Red Hot and Sour Apple card stock. The top of the stocking was cut in Sweet Tooth and Sour Apple or Red Hot card stock. The top piece of Sweet Tooth card stock was embossed with the D'vine Swirl Embossing folder.
I added a piece of Red Hot Ribbon or Sour Apple Ribbon to the top of each stocking. I finished off the top of the stockings with either a Poinsettia created with the Poinsettia Die-namics or a piece of holly created with the Jumbo Christmas Stocking Die-namics. For the poinsettia and the holly I used prints from the Lily Bee Design Christmas Cheer collection.
I used the smaller die from the Decorative Doily Duo Die-namics and a circle from the Circle STAX 1 Die-namics as the base for the letters. The letters were cut from the High Rise Alphabet Uppercase Die-namics. Once again, the patterned paper is from the Lily Bee Design Christmas Cheer collection.
I wanted to add a little extra to the toe of the stockings so I cut out an extra stocking top in Sweet Tooth card stock. I then used the Jumbo Christmas Stocking Die-namics to cut the Sweet Tooth card stock to fit the toe of the stocking.
I used Sweet Tooth ribbon for the top of the banner. Each stocking was attached to the banner with a piece of Red Hot Ribbon and a Sweet Tooth button. In between each stocking I added a bow created with the Dainty Bows Die-namics die and Red Hot or Sour Apple card stock.
I wanted to hide the ribbon ends and keep the back of the stockings tidy so I added an extra stocking and stocking top to the back of each stocking. This added to the weight and stability of the stockings.
That's it for me today, be sure to check out the MFT blog to see what the rest of the team has created for you.
